Does Firefox Have Tab Groups Like Chrome, Edge, and Safari?
Yes! Firefox now has native tab groups. Mozilla Firefox 133.0 and later versions come with new “Tab Groups”. And you can group tabs to keep related pages together in one workspace. And the good thing is that in Firefox you can enable and disable ‘Tab Groups’ as per your convenience.
How to Enable Tab Groups in Mozilla Firefox
By enabling the new ‘Tab Groups’ in the Firefox browser, you can organize multiple tabs into different groups or collections. Once it is enabled, right-click on any active tab and select “Add tab to new group”. This will create a new tab group in which you can add other tabs by drag-and-drop.
To activate native tab groups in Firefox browser:
1. Open Mozilla Firefox and Type about:config
in the Address bar and Press Enter.
2. Click on ‘Accept the Risk and Continue’ to Bypass the Caution.
3. Type browser.tabs.groups.enabled
in the Preference Search Box.
4. Now Double Click on browser.tabs.groups.enabled Preference to Change It’s Value from False to True.
5. Now Restart Your Browser.
How to Disable Tab Groups in Mozilla Firefox
If for some reason you want to disable this native tab groups feature in your Firefox browser, it’s very easy. For this you just need to change the value of the ‘browser.tabs.groups.enabled’ preference from true to false. For this, you can follow the steps given below.
To deactivate native tab groups in Firefox browser:
1. Open Mozilla Firefox and Type about:config
in the Address bar and Press Enter.
2. Click on ‘Accept the Risk and Continue’ to Bypass the Caution.
3. Type browser.tabs.groups.enabled
in the Preference Search Box.
4. Now Double Click on browser.tabs.groups.enabled Preference to Change It’s Value from True to False.
5. Now Restart Your Browser.
That’s it! Once you complete the above steps, ‘Tab Groups’ will be enabled and disabled in your Firefox browser.
