How to Enable Auto Scroll on Instagram Reels (Android & iPhone)
Meta has introduced a new feature, “Auto Scroll”, in Instagram Reels, which will now make your Reels viewing experience even better. Until now, you had to manually scroll to watch the next Reel, but Instagram’s new auto-scroll feature will automatically scroll the Reels for you.
This feature is disabled by default, so you’ll need to enable it to use it. In this article, I have shared step-by-step instructions on how you can activate Auto Scroll mode on Instagram Reels. It is available for both Android and iOS (iPhone) users.

How to Enable Auto Scroll on Instagram Reels
If you’re tired of repeatedly scrolling through Reels or want to watch them continuously without touching your phone, then you should quickly enable Instagram’s new auto-scroll feature. Below, you’ll find all the steps with images to set it up.
To turn on auto scroll on instagram reels without app:
- Open Instagram App on Your Android or iPhone.
- Tap on Reels Icon at the Bottom Menu Bar.
- Tap on Three Dots (β) Icon at Right Side Menu.
- Simply, Turn On the “Auto Scroll” Toggle.
That’s it! Now your reels will scroll automatically; no need to swipe manually.
Apart from this, if you want to turn auto scroll off on IG Reels, simply play a reel and tap on three dots. Now, turn off the auto-scroll toggle.

Fix Auto Scroll Option Not Showing on Instagram Reels Problem
If this auto-scroll option is missing in your Instagram Reels, there might be some specific reasons for it, such as an outdated app version, a corrupted cache, or your account not yet being eligible for this feature, etc. However, you may solve this problem by following some of the methods mentioned below.
#1. Update Your Instagram App
Auto scroll is a completely new feature. If you are using the outdated Instagram app, you may not see it. Whether you are an Android user or an iPhone user, the auto-scroll option will start appearing in your IG reels once you update Instagram.
You can easily update the app from the Google Play Store (for Android) and the Apple App Store (for iOS).
#2. Clear Instagram App Cache (Android)
If you have updated Instagram but the reels auto-scroll option is still missing, then one of the reasons could be a corrupted cache. However, by clearing the corrupted cache, you can fix this problem and bring back the auto-scroll feature.
To clear Instagram’s corrupt cache on your Android phone:
- Open Settings on Your Phone.
- Tap on Apps > All Apps or Manage Apps.
- Find Instagram from the App List and Tap on Storage and Cache.
- Tap on Clear Cache.

#3. Offload IG App (iPhone)
If you’re using an iPhone, unfortunately there is no dedicated option to clear the cache. However, on an iPhone, you can delete the outdated data of the Instagram app by offloading it.
For this, go to iPhone’s Settings > iPhone Storage > Instagram App > Offload App > Offload App to Confirm > Reinstall App.
#4. Wait for Your Turn
If the Reels auto-scroll option is not appearing even after updating Instagram and clearing the corrupted cache, you will have to wait for some time. This is because it is a new feature, and it is being rolled out gradually to all users.
Also, regularly check the Play Store or Apple App Store for Instagram updates. If there is an update available, install it immediately.
