How to Stop Video Playback (Grid Playback) on Google Photos
Google Photos now comes pre-installed as the default gallery app on most Android phones. When you open the Google Photos app, live previews of videos appear on the main timeline. This feature auto-plays the videos in the Google Photos grid without opening them.

Before you follow the steps below, make sure you have the latest version of the Google Photos app installed on your Android or iPhone. If your Google Photos is outdated, then update it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
To stop videos from playing automatically on Google Photos:
1. Open Google Photos App on Your Android or iPhone.
2. Tap on Profile Picture at Top Right Corner.
3. Tap on Photos Settings.
4. Tap on Preferences.
5. Tap on Photo Grid Playback.
6. Turn Off Toggles Next to Videos and Motion Photos.
That’s it! Now the live preview of any video will no longer automatically play in your Google Photos grid.

How to Disable Loop Video Playback in Google Photos
The Google Photos app also allows you to disable the loop video playback mode. For this, follow the steps below.
To turn off continuous loop playback of any video in Google Photos app:
1. Launch Google Photos App and Play Any Video.
2. When Video is Playing, Simply Swipe Up Your Screen to Access More Options.
3. Turn off Loop Video Mode.
